Happiness is letting go of what you think your life is supposed to look like and celebrating it for everything that it is. – Mandy Hale
Ever since media and social media took over our lives, almost everyone’s expectations of life has been raised to unrealistic levels.
Subconsciously and super subtly we are being programmed to believe that we are supposed to ‘look’ a certain way, live a certain kind of lifestyle and pursue a ‘success’ that never ultimately satisfies.
In this never-ending pursuit of big dreams and a picture-perfect life, have lost our sense of child-like wonder?
While reaching goals, chasing dreams and exploring the world is very essential, let us not let our happiness solely cling to those.
Let’s pause. Take a moment and rewrite our terms of happiness!
Let’s go back in time when we didn’t have to prove or make a statement of our joys and success.
Let’s dream and work towards a better tomorrow, while seizing today, living the moment and savouring the now!
Let’s celebrate achievements and milestones, while making a conscious effort to enjoy the waiting and the journey!
Above all, hold close the people you love. Enjoy a silly conversation, laugh, take a walk, make a phone call, sit back and admire the messy hair and the little sleepy faces, be thankful for the toys that are strewn around before you tidy it up! Discover the joy that has been tucked away into all the tiny moments in time!
Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude. – Denis Waitley
A couple of weeks ago, I photographed this lovely family at Copenhagen in the vast, charming gardens of the Rosenborg Castle. Standing behind the camera, all I had to do was capture the sweetness and the joy the four of them excuded as individuals, as a couple, as parents, as children and as siblings!
Turn on the volume and enjoy the moments from this family session on HD!
